Interestingly, the article says a mechanized system will scan the 1.1 billion questionable bills in about a year. That works out to about 35 bills/sec if it runs 24/7, which is fairly impressive and can't be cheap.
With all that in mind I wonder how much it costs to print a "new" $100 bill...
