AllowCellSelection = .f. seems to have a few other drawbacks, IIRC - few other things stop working as well, and then it also affects the whole grid (depending on what is the goal it may be the ticket or not). ReadOnly on the column should prevent editing. Returning .f. from control's .when() would make it unfocusable.
