>>>>The irony of an organization called the Red *Cross* banning religious symbolism is piquant, to say the least. BTW, as I'm sure you know the corresponding organization in Muslim countries is called the Red Crescent.

>>>>PC on so many levels is so silly sometimes it almost makes me want to be a Mac.

>>>I learned a couple of things from your post, which is not unusual. The irony of the name Red Cross had not occurred to me, and I didn't know they are known as the Red Crescent in Muslim countries.
>>>
>>>That said, I don't think Christians have any right to try to take ownership of this time of year. The percentage of Americans who are Christian has been falling and is now around 75%. It's probably even lower if it were possible to accurately count those who say they are only because they're afraid not to. Christian beliefs and agendas do not speak for all of us and they certainly do not speak for me.
>>
>>Then you and the rest of the 25% do not need to celebrate Christmas right? You wouldn't want to be a hypocrite.

>I am not a hypocrite about it. And I respect the beliefs of the 75%. I just don't try to ram my views down their throats, which is exactly my point.

I'm still trying to figure out just when this country changed from a democracy to one where the whim or whine of the minority becomes law and the majority just gets to pay for it? Sometime in the 70's I think - about the time this country started going down the tubes.

>The Blackhawks are starting to play a little better but are still a shadow of the team they were last season. You sort of knew it wouldn't be the same when they lost so many players due to cap issues. But it still hasn't gone very well. Who knows, it's still relatively early.

I've been so busy I have only watched a handful of NHL games and haven't paid much attention to the standings. I need to get my priorities straight!

>The Bulls OTOH have been exceeding expectations.
