It's hard to prevent all leaks. We have a local government application. With .dbf files we were facing database and index corrupts almost everyday. After we moved VFP+SQL Server we never faced even just one record fail or any index problem with years, never...

I know there is a portable version of SQL server.

>If you have corruption problems with dbfs, you will most likely have the same problems with another database. I haven't had a single corruption problem in 15-20 years. I suggest that you try to find the reason for the corruption instead, since it's not VFP that creates it.
