In our case, many of the "cases" were from cops turning other cops in. Other jurisdictions may have cops covering, not to say that we don't too, but I'm just saying....

>>>
>>>As for the stories about the dirty cops it was a response to "Kudos to the men and women of the Memphis Police Department" - which by the way is 6th in the nation for police misconduct. I will reserve my "kudos" to the men and women of some KS police departments - which ranks last in the nation for police misconduct.
>>
>>Hmm, I think that ranking means we "police" our own better than others. Otherwise, you wouldn't hear about it. We have arrested a lot of our own police officers, who should never have been hired, but were after a previous mayor decided we should lower our standards and let some applicants in with criminal backgrounds.
>
>That makes no sense whatsoever. You're suggesting that the cops are better cops because more of the cops bust more of the cops.
>
>The problem is the number of officers accused vs officers reported are very high. There are a LOT of officers accused and a LOT of officers reported. If they did a better job of policing the police then there wouldn't be as many accused to begin with (unless the public just hates them all) - and even if that was the case then there would still be a lower number reported.
>It's a shame the previous mayor thought it was a good idea to lower the standards - hopefully your new mayor is better. Perhaps raising the standards and raising their pay would in the long-run be better for everyone.
