>We have been in a severe drought for as long as I can remember. The real threat, aside from the flooding, is the burned out hillsiders collapsing.
Last year (or was it the year before?) we had a severe drought. when we finally received rain, the ground was so dry it all ran straight into sewers and rivers and lakes and flooded them all - not much was able to soak into the ground and do much good for anything other than the public water supply.
