Thanks for your follow-up. The only reason I added the DB into the program was a container for the views. I don't really want to keep it. So, the temporary DB is really best.
The thing that was misleading me was the error message saying that the database was read-only. I considered the possibility that the DB included in the COM was what it was referring to, but I ultimately thought there was a problem getting to the Firebird DB. I wish the message had been mroe specific. I wouldn't have wasted so much time fixing this.
Your insight was really helpful.
