One very big complaint against IE8 was that there was no way to programmatically select tabs, or address a specific tab, as far as I know. My guess is that this has now been fixed, and that you must add some code between lox and DOCUMENT.body.innertext, something like lox.tab(0).DOCUMENT.body.innertext. I have not installed IE9 myself, and have no immediate plans to do so, so I can not check this myself.
