Scott,

Reluctant indeed. I have been happy doing apps with VFP + MYSQL. This Python "sidetrip" is, for me, just an escape hatch. Although I am getting to love it. If you have gone into some of Ed Leafe and Paul McNett's narrations, the very reason why they made wrappers around wxPython is because wxPython is too C and not OOP in nature.

Happy Holidays!
Dennis

>>Hi. I too have started embarking on the Python journey. Have u checked out Dabo? Seems cool. What are your thoughts on this?

I first want to better understand the nuts and bolts of the GUI which is why I started working with wxPython instead of diving directly in to Dabo. So far I've been impressed with Python and its ease of use. I also installed PostgreSQL and have been pleased with it. Call this my reluctant migration away from VFP.
