Copied the .PST file to the local drive and the import worked from the local drive. However, another issue I came accross is that when importing the .PST file the email accounts are not imported. That is, it looks like I have to manually create every email account in the Outlook 2010. Too bad.

>>Hi,

>>I am trying to import my Outlook 2003 file (.PST) from the XP computer to Win 7 computer where Outlook 2010 is installed. I copied the .PST file to a DVD. Insert this DVD into the Win 7 computer. Then I open Outlook 2010, go to Import, navigate to the .PST file on the DVD but get a message " File access is denied. You do not have permission required to access file G:\Outlook.pst"

>>What am I missing? TIA.

>>UPDATE: Problem Solved.
