Yep. The Asus notebook (AQ600VC) that I got a number of years ago is pretty solidly built -- albeit a bit on the hefty side at around 2.7kg... I agree, Asus laptops aren't the lightest in the world - and it took me a little while to get used to the keyboard - but the display is brilliant on mine, I was able to easily get a 7200 rpm drive, and the overall performance is great.
