I am not all the way through it even once and have the sense I will have to watch it at least one more time to get it all. If then. Something tells me part of it is intentionally left unexplained, up to the interpretation of the viewer.

Have you seen "Mememto"? It was also directed by Christopher Nolan and was the movie that put him on the map. It's one of my favorites. At the time I had a vague idea of writing a screenplay and hung out on a Compuserve forum for movie people. One of the guys there, Bill Martell, who had actual screenwriting credits to his name, caught an early viewing and posted a rave about it. Movies have been told backwards before but maybe not with such elan.

Re Ellen Page, yeah, exactly. The standards of movie star looks must be established in some distant galaxy. Women who would turn your head at the supermarket are cast as plain looking or worse.
