>>>I'm wondering what does it really take to get an MVP. I've been the top answerer in MSDN T-SQL forum for more than a year with more than 200 answers per month. Prior to that I've been top answerer in the ASP.NET forums in the section related to SQL Server. I do have a few blogs (although I don't write often).

There is nothing official about this but I think we all know how much help you provide. It is appreciated. So in that sense you already are an MVP.

If there is one piece of strategic advice I can give you it's don't try so hard. Sometimes you go out of your way to make sure everyone knows you had the right answer and had it first. Knock it off. I say this as helpful advice, not as criticism. You saved my life once, after all. There is only one MVP I can think of who wants to be patted on the head. It's an outcome, not a goal.

It will happen for you.
