I was reading pieces of your Serbia for beginners and had to laugh. About 15 years ago I lived in a house on an acre of land and the house number was 300A Mill St. :o) There once was a 300 Mill St on the acre beside me and the 2 acres combined was once all the same property (owned by one person) so my house when built became 300A. It was in the county, not inside the city limits and leftover from before they split acres into 'lot sizes' and numbered them accordingly. Eventually the county planners came around and re-numbered everything(no choice involved - it was done and that was it) and my house went from 300A to 1280. Quite a jump when they finally figured out how many homes would be "allowed" to be built or they considered would "fit" on the land if every possible home was built. So it looks like that style of house numbering existed in many places in the world at some time...
