>>Hi, JR...call me a skeptic, but I'm not sure MS' predictions were for millions in the first few days. (Unless you can provide an actual link).
The prediction wasn't from MS. Try somebody closer to home. ;-)
>>And call me a bigger skeptic, but I'm not sure I believe the Android stats either.
I agree that the figures seem large, but the mobile market is absolutely gigantic... and we have to assume that listed companies aren't lying to their shareholders about such things.
>>I've seen JB's phone and I like it very much - but I also love my HTC Evo. Even in places where I don't have 4G, it's still a great phone.
Fair enough. I'm looking forward to seeing what T-mobile chooses for me in a month or two. I'm expecting an Android model, but I don't think it really matters as long as it comes from Samsung or HTC or somebody who knows what they're doing. I'm also contemplating whether to start replacing PCs with pads. That wouldn't be sensible for developers, but people who lug around a notebook for email, browsing, reports, presentations, online app access etc etc may be better served by a pad. I'm not the only one wondering about this- Apple sold millions of the things in less than a year (equal to 6% of PC sales according to one presenter) and the CES show is packed with competing pad offerings.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
