>>>Times change.

>>>Do you think it's an acceptable word? If you were black would you want to be called that?
>>
>>If you change Mark Twain's words, just because a few ignorants MAYBE will feel better after this, You are completely insane.
>>If you change all Twain's words to politically correct words, then better just burn his books.
>>
>>If somebody didn't like Twain's words, JUST DON'T READ him ....
>>
>>Grrrr.
>>I really hate when somebody try to change the books, because of the politics.
>>If some black persons (Hmmm, African American) come here most of the people will call hhim/her N word, JUST BECAUSE this is NOT offensive word here.
>>
>>How to call them in Spain or Italy? I really doubt that they will change the word for black, just because of you?
>>
>>This is stupid
>>
>>Mike, when I said "You", I didn't meant you personally :-)
>>I meant these people which try to be "politically correct" and get liked no matter what they will cause.
>>I really get very angry when somebody try to change the literature.
>>
>>I lived in communist country and I know what this means.

>I agree completely. Most of these people which I agree are a little crazy, mostly cry out because someone else may be offended. You will here these people saying "I am not offended, because I can take it, but other people may be offended". For crying out loud, get these people to shut up, and ask the people who really are offended to speak out. If you managed that, you would really hear the sound of silence.

>It's just like the "freedom of speech" which is nonexistent in American TV and radio. Have you ever watched an American debate or comedy without a number of "beeps"? Why do they censor these programs? Because "someone else may be offended"...! I'm happy to live in a country where freedom of speech is the reality, and not just fiction and a drea

In the media if you dare use "free speech' to express yourself, you can certainly be fired here...

I'm more concerned with trying to make literature "PC." That makes no sense at all. It is supposed to reflect us - the good, the bad, and the ugly.
