I also have an external hard drive plugged into a USB of the Docking station. None of the devices using the Docking station work. The only thing that Docking stations does send through to and from the computer is the video signal.

Have you tried booting from a live Linux distro like Knoppix and see if it has the same problem? If the problems seem to go away then it's likely something in Windows that is messed up, if the problems persist then it's likely hardware.
