On a personal level - while I don't believe in belief, I have more personal admiration for those who hold to personal faith (even though I don't agree) than this (attempting to resolve the two). The latter is more dishonest, in my book.

This statement "In the beauty of the world, in its mystery, in its greatness and in its rationality ... we can only let ourselves be guided toward God, creator of heaven and earth", in microcosm, is the quintessential fraud of this "new" viewpoint (which isn't new). It's science when it's convenient, but all roads point back to God - the ultimate circular argument.
