Some of the same people probably thought that playing Styx music backwards led to hearing Satanic messages. Of course, the flaw in that theory is that Styx had enough difficulty getting music to sound right when it was played in the correct direction.

This was a terrible, terrible tragedy. And certainly one that should be fully investigated.

But it also demonstrates that every two-bit reporter, every unemployed blogger with an internet connection and a keyboard can try to connect the dots with theories and motiviations on why the killer did what he did....and have his/her blog posts picked up by thousands of people within minutes.

The information highway is (sadly) filled with waste dumps that smell badly, and that is precisely what I think of many opinions on this topic right now.
