>>>How about if we say that all of that is over the line? Anyone on either side suggesting or even hinting that the right way to deal with a political opponent is with a weapon is behaving badly, in my book.

>>>Tamar, just a yes/no....do you think the Palin crosshairs map is "suggesting or hinting that the right way to deal with a political opponent is with a weapon"?

>"This is just the first salvo in a fight to elect people across the nation who will bring common sense to Washington." Precisely the turn of phrase any decent surveyor would use :-\

I believe her map was taken down from her website but left up on her Facebook page.

Her camp's rambling and childish "surveyor symbols" excuse for the gunsights / crosshairs RELOAD! map is at least an admission of poor taste or regret, without actually "manning up" to say as much. Hell, she even twitted and commented on her "crosshairs" map that are now magically surveyor symbols. But blaming her for this nut's actions is silly. However, Palin, Bachmann, and the Teaparty very much traffic in gun-politics and "we are armed" rhetoric. To state otherwise is silly. Even Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan said as much. When you lose Joe and Pat, there's something to it. I suspect that it was a very tough day at the Palin house when this news broke that a Congresswomen who was a target on her crosshairs map, the same Congresswomen who complained about her crosshairs map and who -- in light of the numerous office smashings and death threats directed at several congressmen -- stated the need to throttle back on the rhetoric, was shot in the head.
