I don't use this laptop that heavily, but I hear you. Man, that would really tick me off. I think I did get the extended warranty, but am not sure where that paperwork is. Ha!

I would think they'd have a record of you in their system.

For what it's worth....for your next laptop purchase (if you indeed buy a new one), I've had my Asus for a year and I love it. (Granted, I liked my 2 Toshiba laptops after a year, and then they both tanked on me).
