I've seen HP BIOS updates reset things like hibernate settings in Windows. (Yes, I do use an HP...that's all we get at work)

That is when I stopped using my laptop because it would eventually hibernate and then turn itself off. I am going to execute the older BIOS update for 2009 and see if that stops the issue.
