Hey all! Thought I'd pop back in for a bit.

The last 4 months or so have been tummutulous to say the least. I've had a major family crisis, worked through 2 big real estate deals while being very actively involved with our other investments. We've got caught up in a political turned legal battle which I'd hinted at before but is now a full blown case and I'm still working full time. As such, I've removed myself from messageboards, poker, most non-sports tv...Basically stopped having fun. ;) On top of that I've decided to restart a business venture I'd previously blown off, ironically because of lack of time. ;)

I've been looking in from time to time and saw my name mentioned so I figured I'd say hello and offer a couple thoughts.

- Regarding the November elections (House : told you so. Senate : Even I don't think I would've voted for Angle.)
- Global Warming : The word of the day is "unfalsifiable", as in if 2 years ago droughts and heat waves were due to global warming and now oversaturation and cold snaps are due to global warming then all you've proven is that your CO2 theory is horsecrap because it is unfalsifiable.
- Oil Spill : The hyped disaster that wasn't. You mean to tell me the Gulf absorbed the oil just like it always does? Amazing!
- US Financial Situation : We remain on the precipice. Another financial meltdown this year would come as no surprise. Long term pain is inevitable. No matter which party is in power neither has the intestinal fortitude to tackle entitlements, therefore doom awaits.
- US Stock Market : My advice is to take full advantage of the current bull run and relentlessly pocket short term gains. A market crash of 3-5% will make for another great buying opportunity short term. As of Dec 15th I had fully recovered everything I lost in 2008. Buying BP heavy on the way down and selling around my core as it vacillated netted me a 100% gain with a full position in a stock I will now hold for my lifetime. This is a big brag as I caught quite a bit of flak for my position. ;)
- Europe Financial Situation : 2 PIIGS down. Portugal, Italy and Spain are "celebrating" their ability to access long term bond markets...Portugal at 6.7%...clearly reason to celebrate? I stand by my prediction, the Euro (currency) will not survive and the Eurozone will not remain as currently structured.
NFL : Steelers over Packers in SB XLV. No lockout.

That's all for now. As much as I've missed the Thread, it just eats away too much of my time so I must remain a part-time lurker.
