>Political correctness, such as the so-called N-word, is a completely separate category. We are free to be as politically incorrect as we like. None of it is legally enforced. It is a social understanding that such words can be deeply offensive. But if someone wants to use them anyway, they can.

So the FCC has absolutely no jurisdiction there, can't impose fines on whoever allows the proscribed word, and all the fuss around ms. Jackson's tit, or whatever happened to those few talk show guys, was altogether a voluntary exercise? Everybody involved was free to opt out at any time? And movie rating is also just a club of self-ruled free members of a benign society, not a state regulated thing?
