David, it's got weirder still...
I find I don't need to click on my button, all I have to do is click anywhere in the page (page in a pageframe) and the grid mysteriously refreshes itself to show the correct content, and continues to do so without any further "clicking".
I've got no code for click event in page/pageframe or form.

I'm starting to feel like a goose.
