Well there is google maps for Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Nokia S60, and the older versions of Windows mobile - so seeing how they make it for everything else I was hoping for a WM7 version. I've been playing with Bing maps - which does work, but I like the google latitude feature cause I use it with some of my friends - plus it has built in layers for things like public transit (which I use a lot here on the island).
The deal-killer is the lack of any voip solutions including skype. Plus no flash support either. The SkyFire browser is nice (or it WAS nice) but they've quit supporting any version of windows mobile.
Perhaps someday WM7 will be better - but for now it seems MS has dropped the ball on the mobile OS war.

EDIT: One other thing I've discovered is that the windows mobile marketplace DRM has been hacked now too - so looks like if you want you can get all the software (including paid apps) for free. Guess I won't be writing any WM7 apps anytime soon either...geeeze.

>>So I managed to get Windows Phone 7 running 100% on my HD2. After playing around with it for a few days I'm greatly disappointed. The good thing is that it is FAST and it boots quickly. Bad news is that there aren't too many apps for it yet. No google maps, no skype, no voip solutions, no instant messengers other than yahoo and msn (and those are 3rd party). So far the only neat thing I've found is that I can watch netflix movies with it. I can flash it with Andorid 2.3 and even get a dual boot between WM7 and Android 2.3 - but until there are some decent apps for the thing I think I'm just gonna stick with Android.
