(a) I've never heard of "Euro Games" - and googling provided no enlightenment.

(b) I mentioned the jist of this story to a biologist friend in the pub. He didn't seem to think it was news. His argument was that it is well known that if parts of the brain are physically damaged then other parts can (and will) take on the 'lost' functions. Given this then it should not be surprising that other potentially unused bits of the brain should be pressed into service in situations such as this. All of which is possibly true but still fascinating......
