>>>>>>An old friend advised me to stop posting musical posts and videos. Whoops.

>>>>>>This band isn't necessarily his type of highbrow music anyway. A classic, "Bad Moon Rising," insinuated my sleep. Credence Clearwater Revival were a scruffy band from a scruffy Northern California suburb near Oakland. The scene at the time was blissed out and psychedelic. If was in San Francisco. They were not that. They were nothing kids from a nothing community south of Oakland and they saw a chance. Fortunately, they had music in them.

>>>>>>Depending on how you feel about the Grateful Dead, CCR were the best American band of rock's golden era. About four chords. But they nailed every one of them and had an emotional pipeline to in-between American kids of the late 1960s.

>>>>>Whoa there now Nelly. I guess we all have our favourites, however... Now, I always liked John Fogerty, but CCR IMHO, couldn't shine The Band's microphone. Oh wait. Maybe you didn't consider The Band an American band because of the mixture of Americans and Canadians. Ah, yes, that must be it. ;)

>>>>No, that isn't it. All of them except Levon Helm were from Canada but AFAIK they all moved to the U.S. and worked here. I think they were terrific and still listen to them fairly regularly. The Last Waltz was the best concert film evah IMO. (You probably know Charles was there). I did say "the best," which was not the right word to use. I guess I was taking popularity into account. CCR were huge for several years. The Band, while reasonably popular with a dedicated following, were not in the same popularity league at all. I liken them more to Little Feat, another favorite group who were also better musicians than CCR. Do you like them? I think it was you who asked about them once and "Waiting For Columbus" was recommended. (Would not be my first choice of their albums but it's a great introduction).
>>>
>>>Can you prove Charles was there. Is there certifiable proof of that :-)
>>
>>Well, he says he was ;-) He has never given me any reason to distrust his word.

>Maybe he's a bit like Forrest Gump. In the background at every big event.

>I'm not even sure Charles exists :-)

I saw him once in the 90s.... He existed then :o)
