CCR were huge for several years. The Band, while reasonably popular with a dedicated following, were not in the same popularity league at all. I liken them more to Little Feat, another favorite group who were also better musicians than CCR. Do you like them? I think it was you who asked about them once and "Waiting For Columbus" was recommended. (Would not be my first choice of their albums but it's a great introduction).
