A few years ago, Utah State had something like 27 wins, was ranked, lost their conference tournament, and didn't get into the big dance. I've come to accept that's the way it is. They need to win the conference tournament outright. They also have not performed well in the post season. The only win under Stew Morrill was several years ago over Ohio State.

As for the fans, what was your issue? ESPN concentrated more on Wild Bill this game than they have in other games this season. He definately is a factor. But, he's a senior, so it's not known what will happen next year. ESPN also made a big deal about who has the best home court advantage in the country. What they didn't tie into that segment, but showed on screen later is that, sorry Kevin, it isn't Kansas, but since the 97-98 season, it is Utah State. The fans definately make a difference here and Stew Morrill has said several times that Wild Bill is like the 6th man. Heck, they even let him help cut down the nets last year.

As for shooting, the Aggies have not always been a bad shooting team. But this year, they keep winning games despite that.

>I watched the entire game...I thought Nevada played poorly, especially in the 2nd half.

>Utah State played pretty well. Their shooting % isn't all that great, but they rebound well and don't seem to make many mistakes. They need to give Brady Jardine more minutes - 14 points and 9 boards in just 20 minutes. That kid could do some real damage.

>So I have to admit, I took an interest in this team tonight.
>
>Here's their problem....they're about 28th in the RPI. The overall WAC conference RPI is 15th. Fair or unfair, the tournament selection committee looks at RPI. They REALLY looked at it last year.
>
>So even if Utah St. wins out and deserves a good regional seed (like a 3 or 4), they still might not get much higher than a 10 and might have to play someone like Tennessee or even North Carolina in the first round.
>
>Last year they were 14-2 in their conference, but only got a 12 seed and got bounced by Texas A&M, That's the problem with the mid-majors, and I agree, it does suck. They'll need teams like Arizona, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Purdue, etc. to start losing multiple games

>OK, now for the fans.....sorry Craig, but those are dorkiest, nerdiest fans I've ever seen. I got really tired of that Wild Bill character. I'm so glad the St Mary's game won't be in Logan.
