For starters Web-Frontends (and probably MSTC-like used apps) have to include Smartphones/xPads as possible input devices. I agree, there are definitely requirements out there. And as I said earlier, they are often in a supplemental/derived context. I never said mobile development wasn't growing. Clearly there's increased market pressure. My entire point to JR was the false dichotomy he initially presented (which he has subsequently clarified).
Sqlite is used at the basis of Firefox, Thunderbird, Nokia, Android... you probably have not looked lately ;-) Just curious, are you aware of Sqlite's issues in a multithreaded application?
