>Did you catch that brief shot during the Super Bowl of John Madden sitting next to President Bush, with Laura on Bush's other side? Madden was texting a message on his cell phone! Now maybe they had been sitting there for eons and had run out of things to talk about, but it seems to me if you are sitting next to someone of that historical stature you should turn the phone off and give him your full attention.

Bush was probably more excited to be sitting with Madden at the Superbowl than visa versa. President Bush is a baseball guy, anyway. Surprised Condi wasn't sitting next to Madden. She's the rabid football fan. ( she'd also be a good one for Goodell to bring in as mediator to get the labor agreement settled. <g> )

( Madden was probably texting to the Fox camera crew saying "Hey, get a shot of me and the Bushes ! " )

Pleased to see young Barbara Bush actually come out for gay marriage. She's her namesake's grand-daughter, for sure.

How's the Pluralsight going? Have you had a chance to look at the Julie Lerman EF stuff yet?

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
