IMHO backends are going to see more packaging of tech with ever-smaller numbers of boffins knowing or caring what is under the hood. Front end is the new frontier: since cloud is accessible to all without monster investment, corporates can't erect their usual barriers against smaller nimbler firms so once again somebody who knows their domain really well can produce game-changing apps.
