Excellent, I salute you for that. VFP is not going away and there is NOTHING wrong with it. The community WILL support it going forward much more so than M$ did. Many other programming languages have NO corporate sponsor and are among the most popular development languages among users. Yes, use SQL Server on the data backend to get 64-bit where you really need it. Smart!
Development of VFP will also continue with the community and it's a MUCH larger group than many here would have you believe. Need web, multi-threading, GDI+, cool new features that are in .NET? - go to CodePlex where you can get them for VFP also, for FREE....
