Not even close -- no F-bombs ;-)

I am grateful to have known Steve for a brief period around the birth of VFP 3. Without equivocation I will say he is one of the smartest people I have ever met. (As are you; now bow deeply <g>). The ideas just flew off him, and probably still do. One memorable night at one of the early Whilfests I wound up going to dinner with Steve and Andy Neil, who was the lead architect of FoxFire. It demonstrated brilliantly the difference between took makers and tool users. I am a tool user. They were tool makers. I was smart enough to just shut up and listen. They had the pens and napkins out and were designing furiously about something they thought the first release of VFP had bollixed. ("Mac kind of missed the boat there, don't you think?" "Yup"). And on they scribbled. I feel lucky to have been there and could not for the life of me tell you what I ordered for dinner.
