For now, I have taken these actions, based on recommendations in this thread

(1) I have excluded the folder where all my project files are located so that it is not scanned by antivirus
(2) I have turned off write caching
(3) I have set all the temp files used by VFP into their own folder (hmmm, should this folder be excluded from AV as well)
(4) I have removed FoxUser.

No problems yesterday. We'll see if that continues.
