>>>>>>>>>>This is a slightly sports obsessed site so I am surprised no one has said anything yet about the Super Bowl. So here we go. I have plenty of thoughts about it but will lay back.

>>>>>>>>>With that aside, I pulled for the Packers in this one.... hated both teams, but pulled for them since the Steelers have won 2 the last 6 and I want the underdog to win once in a while.

>>>>>>>>>Black-Eyed Peas? I knew they were in trouble when the girls mike failed right off to start. She would've been better off if had stayed off. Harmony???? The show itself was spectacular, too bad about the singing.

>>>>>>>>>The Packers? Wow... all the injuries and still overcame them. Too bad the Panthers can't learn from them.

>>>>>>
>>>>>>It's really high. It's practically a national holiday. I hear what you're saying, because the Super Bowl is a tiny fish in the World Cup pond, but here it's huge.
>>>>>
>>>>>No thats not what I'm saying. It is a huge audience but. What I'm saying is that comparing with earlier years is another example of how statistics can be misleading.
>>>>>
>>>>>Years ago the FA cup here had a similar impact. The shops where practically empty on that Saturday at 3.00 but now it seems less so. One change is that it used to be one of the few games you could see live on TV where now there are live games several times a week.
>>>>
>>>>Point taken about false statistics skewed by time. I think "Gone With the Wind" remains the biggest box office movie ever when the numbers are adjusted for inflation.
>>>
>>>Really all those numbers tell you are that they are an estimate of many people watched that thing at that time. they shouldn't be linked. Its a common problem with statistics, numbers collected under different circumstances possibly by different methods being compared.
>>>
>>>BTW if you want the Olympics you can have it. I don't see why I should be subsiding a bunch of lycra clad drug addicts running jumping and throwing things.
>>
>>Drug addicts? LOL
>>
>>And what do you have against lycra? We might not all look good in it but Olympic athletes do.
>>
>>If they are wearing that much. Reportedly international hookups are rampant at any Olympics. There is a huge supply of condoms on hand, which ran out last time. What's funny to me is that probably the most amorous Olympian in history got shot down in flames. Remember the Italian downhill skier and playboy Alberto Tomba? (Tomba la bomba). He was telling all and sundry, including television reporters, that he was in love with the German figure skater Katarina Witt. (Nothing wrong with that, even if she was the size of two normal figure skaters). Before the womens' gold medal event Tomba, who had won two golds, said if she didn't win he would give her one of his. (She won). Even for an Italian he was smitten. Unfortunately for Alberto, she was spectacularly uninterested.

>Still worked out better for him than ol' Spider Sabich.

The melody of "Tainted Love" just ran through my head for no reason.
