They would be renting the hips to patients rather than selling. Payments based on the cost of the hip replacement prorated over a couple of years. If you die fast, you'll save money. Otherwise, bend over.
Miss a payment? Better hide because they'll repossess.
Cloud sounds rosey when the spin doctors are pushing it. Bottom line is this puts a continuous revenue stream to the providers and a continuous expense to the customers.
