Getting back to the original question - hopefully never!! In the last few years at Microsoft, they did far more harm than good for the product. Since they've been gone, Foxpro has undergone a Renaissance! Get away from the need for Microsoft to somehow bless VFP and hold your hand with clients (although not actually doing much). VFP will grow as a PHP type language for Windows but without Microsoft's help - in fact, probably with Microsoft kicking and sceaming.. M$ is furiously backpedaling, trying to make a simple scripting development environment made in the likeness of .NET called RAZOR (or WebMatrix, a recycled product name!). But guess what, FoxPro already fills that void really, really well and my feeling is that if M$ were to step back into VFP they'd ruin it more than anything else.
Wow - guess I was inspired to write this after reading Mark Gordon's latest blog:
http://dotbloat.blogspot.com>>When Steve Linux=AL KADA" Balmer gets the boot - understanding that everything MSFT has marketed since he took the helm makes the Titanic look like a successful crossing, what are the odds that MS will go back to it's roots and hopeful return to manufacturing Fox Pro.
