>>Do you really think the average cell phone consumer knows or cares what OS is on his phone? Get the right ad agency and product placement on Vampire Diaries and no worries. <s>
LOL. Lets not forget telephony provider subsidies: if you ignore the Apple ecosystem, who but a geek or spoiled kid will pay $499 for a handset if the network has similar devices for $100? Certainly my next phone is going to be selected by T-Mobile.
>>If there is one thing Steve Jobs has taught us, it is if you can make it look like the cool thing to do, people will believe anything. This is not a tech market, this is a *consumer* market.
Agreed. Apple is a phenomenon but some other devices inexplicably get a cool reputation for a while, especially in the ranks of kids who keep "accidentally" breaking their phones (so daddy gets them the latest cool new handset ... parents take note!)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
