I saw a Dutch hill once, somewhere between Weert and Rotterdam. I think it was described to me as the highest Dutch hill. It was definitely a hill, and not a mountain. My discriminator: one can walk up a hill, while one must climb a mountain. I'd venture it was a 2-hour walk for slow folks like me, probably 30 minutes for the Dutch, who really like their walking.

For business apps, which is my focus, native apps are not a must. It just has to look like a native app. I'll be happy to run my pyjamas apps on WP7. And if I want to pretend I'm a native app, there's always PhoneGap, which will have its WP7 capabilities this Q, Meanwhile, .Net developers will be still figuring out extension methods to LINQ so they can come close to doing what they did in VFP in a couple of lines of code.

>>Probably it's quite good for the consumer- the Android robot may be all cutsie in 2011 but no corporate can resist harvesting a dominant position, and that was Android's destiny until this announcement. Much of the market won't care that MS's sudden position was not earned (more likely bought- sure enough, more hundreds of millions of $ to buy a position) and if the big cellphone providers can be persuaded to back the new dynamic duo then things could change quite quickly.

>I'm all for alive markets, but the combo of the game-oriented WP7 with the in europe strongly biz oriented high level nokia phones is not a great match - unless in the next 10 weeks the special nokia treats announced for WP7 are shown to be in the area of biz integration. Even then it will be an uphill battle - and more alpine than dutch hills ;-)
