In SQL Server string constants use single quotes. I think MySQL is probably the same. Single quote should be safer. Also, use p and s instead of a/b for aliases.

I have change my double quotes into single quotes, with the same (unwanted) result. Kindly check message 1500219 - I have also changed the table alias A and B into AA and BB as per Tore's advise. Still the same.

Funny thing is, it works on the MySQL side. It also works on VFP side, but shows an error message (trapped by my code) first, then displays the correct results!
