l let it timeout and this is what I got

Message="Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."

I've not altered anything and this was working a few minutes ago and has now stopped again.

Any thoughts on how to track down the cause ?

Does it generate an exception at all? It should at least do that. If there is no exception being thrown, then perhaps you have a very long timeout setting and it appears to hang or freeze so you end up killing it before the timeout period is over.
