Wasn't Robert Green the same guy they hired for VFP after they announced the death of VFP internally at MS?? I bet he was brought onto the VB.NET team to oversee it's downsizing as well (since he has the experience) Well that makes sense.
Sure they'll pay VB.NET some lip service just like they did with VFP - it''ll all be a gradual process of cutting back.
VB.NET probably is very much externally alive to keep certain folks happy, just like the fox was..
>Your interpretation of what's happening with VB is absolutely false. Look at the following evidence:
- A VB SDK for Windows Phone has been released.
- The VS team is hiring VB people (Example, Robert Green recently returned to the VS team)
- LightSwitch demos are primarily VB and the LightSwitch team is primarily VB people
- Most Office automation/extension examples and coding is done in VB
- SharePoint development is primarily VB
- There are VB-specific sessions planned for the MVP Summit next month
VB is very much alive at Microsoft.
(When I say VB here, I refer to the .NET version of VB)
