I've got sp2 installed. Is there an additional hotfix? In this case there are no indexes. Just something VFP is doing internally. For some reason in 8, it is setting up a temp index.

>Just in case - are you using VFP9 SP2 latest hotfix? Do you have indexes with variable length? If yes, then it's another problem, which you better fix ASAP.
