Well that's an interesting take on the "is it ok to film a cop in the line of duty" debate.

"...."This rhetoric can give someone a free pass to try to assault a police officer or kill a police officer, and I'm not going to allow that," he said. "My officers should be able to go out here and work in the neighborhoods and keep this city safe without fear and without hesitation."..."

So let me get this right - he's saying that people filming a cop doing his job is going to result in the cop being assaulted? REALLY? So I guess the person is going to be holding a camera in one hand and beat the cop with the other??...and film it too? Am I missing something or this this guy off his rocker? Perhaps teaching his staff not to beat the hell out of innocent citizens might be a better approach.
