Make sure you adopt technologies already adopted by the Open Source community (who are driving most mobile tech dev now anyway). If MS is also on the bandwagon with it, so much the better. I believe the Open Source equiv of Silverlight is HTML 5 or some sort of combination with it. I actually thought Silverlight was already yesterday's news..
