There's not much there that leads me to believe that the guy understands either of the technologies in question and is conequently capable of deriving meaning from what he hears on the subject.

The problem with 'standards' like HTML5 is they need to be around for a long time and cast in stone. HTML5 is barely out of the box and already outdated in some ways - no multi-touch support for instance.
