So I would prefer to save it (print to) a PDF so that if I lose the score, I can go back and reprint the PDF. I have DoPDF V6 drive installed on my computer and from many other programs I can output/print to PDF. This program, Sibelius Scorch, whenever I try to print to this PDF drive says, "Printing to File is not allowed". Anybody can suggest other ways of printing to PDF so that the dreaded Sibelius would not notice?

>>Thank you for the link (I should have thought about going to their web site too). From the description of the link you provided it looks like (I am guessing) the printing will also be done to a file. The thing is I have been buying digital music from this site that uses their software for many, many years. But before I used to buy just one song at a time. And it was never a problem to print to the PDF driver I have. But this time, I bought it on a CD (instead of getting it directly from the web site). And the software on CD does not allow printing to a file. I think the software on the CD is fairly old (even though I bought it just last week) since on the box it says for Windows 95 or higher. And for IE 4 and Netscape 4. It could be that in the later versions they no longer stop from printing to a file. It is not a big deal. I am buying the music for myself (none of my friends would know what to do with it anyway :)). And it is nice to have a PDF for a backup. I could scan the sheet music but it is another piece of paper to be stored somewhere which is a pain.

>It's a good idea to be wary of any software that tries to enforce DRM. Some of them are not shy about dropping hidden processes that run all the time on your computer, even while you're not using the associated software. Depending on what they try to do, they could insert hooks into the file system, install print monitors etc. This can affect your computer's performance, stability and security.

The way this company, musicnotes, enforces their DRM (in a way) is that when you buy the digital music you can't print it unless you have their software installed. I remember years ago I could buy the sheet music and print it without this software but not any more. But at least, so far, I have not noticed any process that they install and run.
