>Just to be clear: I don't give a jot whether the 4GL looks like FP. Never did. To repeat the ride involves a) cross-platform, b) form designer with 4GL methods and c) local cache that spools/synchronizes to Cloud. Fact is that Joe Average doesn't want to write Javascript/jQuery but he/she does want to be able to create simple data apps, or even leverage their own niche with a simple idea that can help pay for a new house. It has begun: check out the options I already mentioned, as well as PhoneGap that wraps apps to utilize phone APIs directly for a more integrated experience. Watch this space.

If WebMatrix ever has a phone OS companion tool, there ya go :o)

Remember the Foxpro developers who were basically advanced users but could write apps and they worked fine for simple requirements? That's now webmatrix and I'm guessing the money MSFT expects to pull in is in the backend.

There's already a plethora of tutorials online for it.
