>In fairness, RS may have moved to newer MS flavors but he still supports and offers paid updates for West Wind for VFP. Clearly he perceives some residual value in it, though last time I purchased some licenses he commented that WW income had dropped right off.

>Of course we all need to make $ and we all need to apply ourselves in an environment where that can happen. For some people, VFP income has dropped off and there is little choice but to move on. For others, VFP remains a viable option. So what? Surely each of us is capable of deciding what is best for us. E.g. I believe that developers should be focusing intently on mobile platforms, but some people will have different rationales and there is no single correct answer.

I don't think it was ever an issue of all of the options presented not having value. In fact, they all do. What struck me was the personal comments injected into my way is the best way for web development and if you don't agree with me then you are either inexperienced, ignorant or you've drunk the MSFT kool aid until you cannot think objectively any longer...

The rude comments to Viv bothered me more than anything else (and frankly probably more than they bothered Viv) because he is one person you can pretty much guarantee will never inject personal comments into a discussion...
